The picture above shows two different DataMatrix marks:
- Laser etch by instrument manufacture (Left). Notice the light color under the DataMatrix code which is a result of a pre-cleaning pass before placing the code on the instrument.
- NuMark (Laser) by NuTrace (Right). Same DataMatrix with no pre-cleaning pass to avoid instrument stress. Both marks are placed on anodized material (Not possible with Electrolysis). Laser marks are more controllable (Deepness, size, color) and can withstand the normal live span of a surgical instrument. The result is increased readability over the years.
